Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)
Yukon is looking for Express Entry candidates and other workers, as well as business people, to contribute to life in the territory.
When qualifying Yukon workers are unable to recruit Canadian nationals or permanent residents to fill vacant full-time positions, they can hire employees outside Canada. We pick highly qualified and skilled foreign workers with the qualifications required on the local labour market and appoint them to live and work in Yukon for Canadian permanent resident visas.
These are our Yukon Nominee programs:
- The Skilled Worker Program is for qualified workers who fit into National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0, A or B categories.
- Express Entry is for skilled workers who fit into National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0 and B.
- The Critical Impact Worker Program is for qualified workers who fit into National Occupational Classification (NOC) C or D categories.
- The Business Nominee Program is for individuals with proven business skills who want to own and operate businesses in Yukon.

The Canada Start-Up Visa (SUV) Program is an immigration pathway for entrepreneurs who want to start an innovative business in Canada. It allows eligible applicants to obtain permanent residency by securing support from a designated Canadian organization such as a venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator.
❓ Who is eligible for the Canada Start-Up Visa?
To be eligible, applicants must:
Have a qualifying business idea
Obtain a Letter of Support from a designated organization
Meet language requirements (CLB 5 in English or French)
Show sufficient settlement funds
Intend to actively manage the business in Canada
❓ Do I need prior business experience to apply for the Start-Up Visa?
No. Prior business ownership or management experience is not mandatory. However, applicants must demonstrate the ability to actively participate in building and operating the proposed business in Canada.
❓ How long does the Canada Start-Up Visa process take?
Processing times vary, but on average it can take 24 to 36 months to receive permanent residency. Timelines depend on application completeness, background checks, and IRCC processing workloads.
