Canada have announced that they will welcome a total of 341,000 new permanent residents in the year of 2020, and this number will continue to increase to 350,000 and 361,000 in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
IRCC breaks down the admission numbers for economic, family, refugee and protected persons, and humanitarian and other immigration categories. The economic category will be the largest influx of newcomers, with a total target of 195,800 permanent residents for 2020.
Overall, we see the Government of Canada continue to action on increasing the flow of immigration to the country.
